First solo session of 2011-2012 dance year

Tiffy started learning her first solo for the year the day before she left for dance camp. Then she was gone all weekend, came back had a couple days to learn all the material from that class. Learned another huge chunk of her dance, was gone for almost 2 weeks at her grandparents house, had 2 days to learn that material before she had her final solo session to learn her lyrical solo which she will be performing at the competitionsthis year. It was a crazy few weeks, but she is good and pushed super hard to learn it all.

I am super excited to see her compete this year and see if she can blow the competition out of the water. High point- that's the trophy she wants! LOL. It is a simply beautiful dance and her coach and choreographer Janica Peterson s just awesome!!!

Here are some pics from her solo session learning her dance:

Dance Camp- PT 3

Here are some of the videos from dance camp. They aren't all of them, as Tiffy didn't want a couple posted. Something to remember about this is that they learned these dances in a very short time and there were a lot of dances to learn over a 2 1/2 day period.

Dance Camp 2011-PT 2

Here is the camp dance:

She then competed with the other 50 finalists (or so) by doing the camp dance again. The instructors all watched them and judged them on their performances. The final 10 were called in no particular order. Tiffy was the last one called out of the top 10. It was nerve racking. LOL. I was so excited when she made the top 10. She got a medalion for getting a top ten spot.

Then they called the top 3 from 3rd place, 2nd place and 1st place Top MVD (Most Valuable Dancer). Tiffy got the first place win. I was SO proud of her. Everyone around us cheered. Her teachers, and everyone in our studio. It was so awesome!!!! At 9 yrs old, to win the MVD means a lot to her.

They handed out a couple of different team awards. The Friendship pillow is the most coveted award as it means that you have the friendliest dancers in all of dance camp. And the win goes to....

....DANCERS EDGE!!!!!

Dance Camp 2011-PT 1

Tiffany went to dance camp again this year. She left July 28th and I wouldn't see her until her performance for the Dance Camp Slam on Saturday the 30th, which also happens to be National Dance day.

Here are some pictures that were taken at dance camp during some of their core/technique classes.

Saturday morning was busy, but I was excited to be able to see Tiffy on Saturday afternoon for her performance. I had definitely missed her. Josh really wanted to come to her performance but he had to work and wasn't able to get it off.

Holiday Weekend- Fourth of July

After we got home, Josh's parents came over since they wanted to spend some time with Josh and Tiffy. They were both super excited that they could do that. We all played games and just hung out and enjoyed each others company.

In themorning, Tiffy had the Tooele parade. So, we got up, ate and went to the parade. She did great! So very cute.

When we got to the parade meet location, we found out they had changed it on us. So, we walked quite a ways till we were at the new spot.

We all hung out for a little till the parade started. Then we all got going.

Once they got going, they all did really great.

At one point in the parade, the Bee came over from Beehive Wireless.

Here are some more parade shots:

At one point, Josh and Janica got into a water fight. LOL.

More parade pics:

After the parade was over, everyone dropped off their poms. Tiffy got on the pile and took a cute pic.

Afterwards, we walked to the car and Josh met us at the little Tooele park in the center of town with my car. While we were sitting, I took a cute shot.

After the parade, we came home, grabbed out stuff, changed and were off to the lake to meet up with Isaac and Nichole and the kids. We waverunnered and BBQ'd. It was a lot of fun. Tiffy loved the waverunner! She had a blaston it. She also wanted me (not Josh- LOL) to pull her on the tube. SHe had fun on that too.

After the lake, we all went back to Isaac and Nicholes house for a BBQ. We stayed for a while, but Josh had to work that night and so we had to leave a bit after 8p so he could get home and get a short nap before going off to work.

All in all, a fun day. EXHAUSTING but fun.
