On Saturday, we went to the USS Midway. It is a big Navy ship and they have tours that you can take. They have a 3-4 hour tour or a family 1.5 hr tour. That is the one we decided to take. Tiffy and I can only handle ships and war stuff for so long. lol.
It's a very big ship and is actually pretty cool to check out.
The ship showed us where they live, eat, train, etc. It even showed us the brig.
The tour takes you through the ship and at one point, we were advised that we were way below sea level. It was kind of weird because it didn't seem like we were that far down. Goes to show, how misleading it can be inside a huge ship.
After you check out the bottom of the ship, you check out the top side with all the ships and simulators.
There was this cool simulator where you could drive a plane and you would see everything that was going on. One person was the shooter and the other was the flier/driver. I let Tiffy drive, and I agreed to shoot. We got in and started up. At first Tiff was way excited, but we kept tailspinning into the ground. LOL. She would scream as the "plane" threw us around and into the ground. I thought it was pretty funny. Finally, I decided to take over flying and from then on, it went much smoother. It was a lot of fun, but Tiffy said she "sucked at flying". I had to laugh. When we got out, Josh had taped it (from the outside). You can see the screen in the video feed and can see exactly what we were doing and saw. So, it made it extra funny. You can tell exactly when I took over flying. Not that I was awesome either, but at least we weren't diving. LOL. He said Tiffy was screaming so loud that the people around had heard it and were laughing and commenting about how we kept hitting the ground. Either way, it was a lot of fun.
We went up to the flight deck and checked out all the cool planes. The view from up there was pretty awesome.
It was a lot of fun and we thoughroughly enjoyed it.
