I like the summer and holidays because it not only means more down time, but also because it means barbecues. I love bbq's. The food and air smell great and you spend time w friends and family. Most of my family all do their own thing and Josh's family is all out of state (except for his brother Isaac who just moved back). So, we always do our own thing.
After the parade, we were all kind of beat and we also had to get Tiffany packed for her trip to her grandparents house. So, when we came home, we chilled and watched some Alias (LOVE THAT SHOW!) and Josh was nice enough to do Tiffy and My toes- lol! Then, I got Tiffy packed while Josh worked on a salad and desert for that evening. I think Tiff's toes turned out way cute. Mine did too.
Since our friends, Jeanie and Coby wanted to have a bbq, we went over to their house for dinner and fun in the evening of the 3rd since that's when Josh and Coby both had the day off.
We all just hung out and had dinner then the kids played while the adults all played Scattegories. The 4 of us always laugh a LOT when we are together and this game proved to be no exception.
After the game, we had dessert and then went outside for fireworks. Jeanie and Coby had bought some fireworks and were excited to set them off. It's a fun thing to do and the kids all love it.We all hung out while we did it. it was pretty cold by then. So, we were all bundled up. LOL.
The kids had a lot of fun playing with the sparklers...and us too.
We also lit off firecrackers. Now, while they weren't anything spectacular, they also weren't that bad and it was fun. One funny thing that happened, after a firecracker that wasn't very bright, Brieann said "LAME!" The inflection in her voice when she said it cracked all of the adults up. LOL. I know that jeanie and Coby were dissapointed with how the firecrackers turned out, but I don't think that it was nearly as bad as they thought it was. They are too funny and crack me up. We will have to get better ones next time. :)
I also got several very cool shots and the kids were into the fireworks.
I got a lot of really cute shots of the kids and Tiff as well.
No one was exempt from being a bit silly and crazy though...
By the end of the fireworks show, Tiff had some energy to get rid of and was running around doing roundoffs and working on her back walk overs.
All in all, we had a lot of fun and it was a great way to celebrate the holiday.
