Red Butte Gardens- part 2

There was this tree in a pot and it had a rod to slide down. It was cute.





Down the path, there were some apple trees. The kids and Jeanie all picked apples to eat. I had to laugh. Lol.




There was a cute little house for the kids to play in.



We walked down the road some and there were these lizards for the kids to play on/with.






There was this cute house hut for the kids to play in. Jeanie went in as well.




We were walking and saw a chipmunk. The kids all thought it was super cute.



There was this flower garden that was amazing and the girls were running through it and I just had to take a pic.



There were swings in the area. So, Tiff and I took some pictures together.

Red Butte Gardens- part 1

Yesterday, Tiffy and I decided to take a trip and go to Red Butte Gardens. I haven't been there in years, and it wasn't as hot as it has been. So, we decided that it was the perfect day for it. Jeanie and the kids had nothing to do so they decided to come along.

We started inside and worked our way out to the patio. There were so many beautiful places to take pictures.







There was this cute "veggie"patch that people had planted and named. It was pretty cool.





There was this little walkway which had some pretty cool views, but there was red mud everywhere and we all got our feet dirty since we were all wearing flip flops. LOL. It was kind of funny.



I think my favorite place was the children's garden. They had some of the cutest things got the kids.




There was a fun snake fountain that the kids could play in.






There were lots of hanging plants from overhanging wires. it looked pretty cool.



There was a fountain/rock wall section. It was pretty cute. There was a table with chairs so if people wanted to picnic, they could have.






I was a cheeseball and took a self pic- in the very bright sun. I also caught Jeanie taking a self portrait. It was really hot by then. LOL.




We went by the herb garden and there was this cool walkway underneath.






There was also a snake fountain that we all thought was pretty cool.

Back walkover and back handspring

Tiffy has been working on her back walkover and her back handspring for the last month and a half. She was finally able to do her back walkover perfectly by herself on the trampoline. She is now working on doing it on the ground.





She was also able to do her back handspring by herself on the tramp. Now she is working on perfecting her technique so that she can do it perfectly on the tramp and then she will move to the grass, and then the wood. Hopefully, she can get it within the next month, because she will probably have to do both of them in her dances this year.

Also, she is super excited about going to dance camp next week. :)

Tiffy's sleepover

On Thursday, I watched Brieann and Cayson for Jeanie and Coby while they went on a date night. I think it's important that married people do so, and I also know that Josh and I do not do it nearly often enough due to our ridiculously insane and conflicting schedules.

Anyway, Cayson went home after their date, but Brieann stayed and had a sleepover with Tiffy. The 2 girls get along really well and had a lot of fun. The kids helped me cook dinner and I tried a cauli-mashed potato dish that I invented. :) It turned out really well and Josh couldn't even tell it wasn't mashed potatoes. LOL!

After I put Cayson to sleep (till his parents came to get him), the girls and I ate a dessert (jello w peaches, strawberries and bananas). Now that's dessert done healthy! It was good!



The next morning, the girls hung out and played with Tiffy's DS until we all got up.



Then, we got the girls ready and ran some errands. While running errands, we went to a clothing store, and when we came out, I heard a noise coming out of a black van that was sitting in the sun with all the windows up. I looked in the car and there were 2 kids sitting there locked in the car in 100F heat with no adult or anything there. I about freaked! I mean, come on! Do people not care about their kids, or realize that people die like that. I watched this special on the news just last week and they were explaining that the heat in a car can jump 30F in 3 minutes and can reach temps of abt 165F in just 20 mins if it is 85F outside. Well, it was 100F yesterday, so I can imagine that the temps would raise significantly. Josh ran inside the store we were just in and let someone know that there were kids in a car right outside their store and asked if anyone was the parent. No one claimed the kids. The store girl ran outside and had them open the doors and windows to cool them down. We had to drop some stuff off at the library, but I was so bothered by the situation with the kids, that I had to come back and make sure that they were gone. If tey had still been there, I would have called the cops. Not only should you NEVER leave your kids sitting in a car alone, but they were left in the heat with no ventilation. THAT is how you lose your kids. So sad. Luckily, they were gone...but man, was I bothered by that situation. Scares me to think what could have happened had no one noticed.

We all went to go see the Sorcerer's Apprentice later in the day. It was pretty good. It will be interesting to see if they make follow up movies, which they left it wide open for. It was a fun time. Later in the day, we all BBQ'd and had a good dinner. I love BBQ's!
