Sunday photoshoot and stuff

Last Sunday, I did the makeup for a couple different photoshoots that a model had planned. I was up at 4:30AM and at her house by 5:30AM so we could have her ready for the shoot in time. We went out and shot by Saltair. They have that old building and the old bus, plus a lot of old junk and stuff out there. It was a fashion shoot (with a little edge I guess). It went well and I was home around 11 AM. We had another shoot in the afternoon. So, I again, left my house at 1:30P so I could get her ready. The next shoot was done at Wheeler Farm and had more of a country feel. I think the whole day went pretty well, but man was I tired. I barely had time to eat or relax...but it's all good. So is the life of a Professional Makeup Artist. When you work, you are super busy, and when not, you chill. LOL. Here is one ofthe pics from the afternoon shoot.

I do have another shoot scheduled for the afternoon/PM of the 11th. So, that should be fun. This one will be more of a vintage look and should help add to my portfolio some variety.

Yesterday, I found out that I am up for the position of a judge at a beauty pageant coming up soon. So, that's pretty cool. We'll see if I get it.

First day of 3rd grade

Typically, Tiffany wants me to walk her in to class, but this year, she wanted to walk in alone. Yes, I was kinda sad since it shows how old she is getting, but I completely understood. One thing I refused to cave in on is the pictures. Pictures the morning of the first day before school are mandatory. LOL.

I think they turned out super cute and show that she is getting so big. It's hard to believe I have a 3rd grader.

One of Tiff's biggest concerns was that she wouldn't like her teacher or her class. I picked her up after school and she was so excited. She LOVES her teacher and thought she is super cool. She is okay with the kids in her class. So, so far, it is promising that she will have a great year with a great teacher. :)

Stansbury Days- Part 2

Tiffy's first performance was her tumbling performance. She wasn't sure what she was going to do, but she decided to wing it.

After the tumbling routine, Tiffy had 1 number to go prep for her other dance. She did her camp intermediate dance next.

Watching Tiffy dance was fun, but her comments were that it sucked to be inthe back. She understood that the better girls were up front (as is the norm) but since she is used to being one of the better ones, she didn't really like it much. She did not like being in the back of the class and said that she will have to work extra hard to make sure that she is in the front. LOL. I had to laugh about that. She is so competitive and loves to be the center of attention. Also, I think it forces her to do better when she is in the front, since she knows that she is being watched. I'm sure in her new class (come fall), that won't be an issue.

Stansbury Days- part 1

Since the girls got out of dance camp, they have been working on the dance for the parade. Course, its only been a few weeks, and Tiffy hasn't been able to make it to all of the practices, but that's okay. On Saturday, August 21st was Stansbury Days. I'm not really sure what they celebrate, but they do a parade, performances and have fireworks later. Tiffy's dance company decided to participate in Stansbury days.

The girls had practice that morning and then we had to be at the meeting spot at 9:30 AM in Stansbury Park. Tiffy was funny and gave me some good poses while waiting to start.

Once they got started, they were all excited.

Once they got started dancing, they all got hot really fast, but they all had a lot of fun.

After the parade, the girls all hung out and waited until it was their time to perform. Tiffy was performing in tumbling and dance class. She performed with the upper level classes and was the youngest in the class.

Yard Work

It always seems like I get my deep cleaning done right before school starts and after the holidays. Kind of strange I guess, but it works for us. Anyway, we decided to replant all the trees that our old dog Bandice had pulled out. So, we got some yard work done and planting caught up. I also foundsome cool LED lights that we put on our gazebo, so that at night it looks way cool. Josh worked pretty hard.

New baby for Johnette and Lagoon

So, our friend Johnette had her first baby boy. She was so excited since she had been trying for 10 years now. So, we were excited to see her have a baby. They called him Tauge. He was cute. Tiffy had so much fun holding him when we went to go see them at the hospital.

After the hospital, Josh, Tiffy andI went to Lagoon. We haven't been there in a while since its so over priced, but we decided to go and had a fun day since school was starting soon and we wanted to make sure that we got one more fun family activity in.

Dance Updates

So, over the summer, there was a lot of people who moved, quit dance, or can't afford it anymore. So, they dropped the teams down to just 5 teams again. It's not a problem and doesn't afect Tiffy at all. She is still on Legacy, but instead of being at the "bottom" of the dance class, she is at the top. Also, her 2 friends, Sammy and Taylorhave been bumped up to Legacy as well. They took the top people from the Infinity team and bumped them to Legacy and took the top Legacy people and bumped them to Elites. The Legacy team is still pretty small (just 9 of them), but that's good cause it means more personalized work.

Tiff has Stansbury Days parade and events on Saturday. We arelooking forward to watching her perform as always. Should be really cute. lol.

Sweet factory and Ikea

Josh had Monday and Tuesday off this week. So, we decided to take a trip down to Ikea. Brieanne wanted to come, so she came with us for the day. Right before we left, I got a call from Sweets candy factory about a tour request I had submitted a while back. They said that they had an opening that afternoon. So, we decided to go there on the tour before we went to Ikea. The girls were super excited.

It turned out to be a lot of fun. They first have you put on a hair net and lock up all your personal belongings. Very attractive. LOL. Good thing no pictures are allowed. I think I rocked it anyway. He he he. Well, as best as is possible. We saw the packaging and atorage area, the sugar section, the taffy section, different candy sections and sorting and packaging. Suffice it to say, there was a LOT of sugar in that building. LOL. At the end of the tour, you get to go into their candy shop and get candy for way cheap. We took pictures outside to upload to their facebook. They said they pick the best ones of the week and they get free candy. So, we'll see.

After the tour, we went to Ikea and got a new bookshelf and a new wok. LOL. I love Ikea! They have cute things at a VERY affordable price. When we got home, we set up the new bookshelf. However, the next day we discovered that our TV was broken. GRRR!!! So, we had to move our downstairs TV upstairs. It's fine and really not that big of a deal, but just very annoying.

Cancer Rally Event

There is this woman in our neighborhod who has cancer and I guess they odn't have insurance that will cover her treatment. So, they did this big event with bounce houses and face painting and food and tatoos, a bake sale, a race and etc to help raise money. Jeanie and I decided to go with the kids. It was really crowded but the kids had a lot of fun. Tiffy got her face painted and was going to get a tatoo, but we ran out of time.

It was really hot outside but we decided to eat dinner there anyways since it was for a good cause. It turned out really well and was a lot of fun.

School Shopping

Summer is almost over. Yes, it's hard to believe. So, in preparation for the new school year, we went to go get some new clothes for Tiff and the kids. Tiffy wants a messenger bag this year instead of a "backpack" so we got her a cute one that she is excited about. One of the stores we went to was Target. The kids liked the big circle and wanted to take a pic in it. LOL. It was cute.

The Bay is back!!!

I seriously had a trip to the past the other day when I drove by this club, The Bay, that Catie and I used to go to all the time when we were 19 and 20. Josh even went quite a bit with us. It has changed and been lots of clubs since, but it is now back to the Bay. I about laughed when I saw it. LOL.

Dance Camp pics

Here are some of the pictures from dance camp:

When we first got there and saw Tiffy, she ran up to us and gave us each a huge long hug. She had to run down and get warmed up before the recital.

Here are some jazz dance pics:

After she danced, she was glad to sit down and watch the other girls perform.

Her next dance was her lyrical:

Hip hop was next:

They did ballroom (salsa and mambo) next:

Camp dance was next:

After the camp dances, they all got together as groups to see who got what awards as a team.

Then, they did the Sumemr Slam dance that will be posted to You Tube and Facebook and also sent in to So You Know You Can Dance. LOL.

In the main dance pics, you can't see Tiffy cause she is so short and in the midst of all the taller girls, but it was a fun dance to watch and see everyone get so into it.

They did awards and ribbons and stuff, during the while, Cayson and Brieann had a hard time sitting still. Cayson loves the camera. LOL. Not the best picture of me, but it turned out somewhat ok and he looks cute.

When everything was all done, we were all ready to leave and go home.

But before they would let us go, we had to get team pics. Some of the girls did funny face pics, but Tiffy didn't make a weird face. She likes to take good shots, not overtly silly shots. which is good, cause I don't like weird shots.

They all got together and took a hugging group shot as well. lol.
