Putting up the tree

Usually I like to do everything all at once. It goes with my all or nothing, black or white personality. However, we have been so very busy that I'm more in the mood to take my time a little more with things. So, Wednesday night when Jayden and Taylor J. came over, we decided to put up the x-mas tree. It was a lot of fun. Taylor helped Josh put the greenery on the stem of the tree and Jayden and Tiffany helped fan out the tree leaves and helped pass them to josh and I to put on the tree.

They were all great helpers. So, we had eggnog and chocolate cookies after we finished. I, of course, had to get a picture of the 3 of them by the tree before they left.

Dance Observation Night

Tuesday was the observation night for Tiffany's competition dance class. They were so funny. Taylor and Tiffany were the ones who helped lead the girls in warm up. So, it as fun watching them lead the other girls.

After warm ups, they worked on their 2 dances for the competitions and recital coming up in January. They started with their "Mickey" dance.

Next up was their "cowgirl" dance. They had a lot of fun with this one- though I think the props have more to do with that than anything.

It's been a lot of fun watching her improve in dance. It's amazing to see your child grow up and turn into a little lady where before she was just a baby and then a toddler. She is polished and has great technique. I really enjoy it and I know she does too.

Tumbling Observation Day

Monday was the observation night for Tiffy's tumbling class. She has a lot of fun in the class and especially liked having Josh came and watch her. Josh thinks she is SUPER flexible. lol. I have to laugh because he can't touch his toes with his hands. He says "its too hard."

She is doing really well.

It will be fun to see them in the final performance in the late spring and see how much she has learned and improved since now.

Tiffy's B-Day Dinner

We went to Benihana's for Tiffany's birthday dinner with the family. Her friend Taylor S. has gone the last couple of years for her birthday and really enjoyed it. She has told Tiffy about it, and suggested it to her. So, we decided to go there. My dad and Lonnie, and Cryatal came with us. It was great to have them there.

My parents gave her a cute hat and vest that is furry. She really liked it and insisted on wearing it the next day to school. lol.

All in all, we had a great night!

The Gym and Josh Being Funny

So, yesterday before Tiffy's party, Angie and I took the kids over to Golds gym so that we could research it and sign up for memberships. So, we did. $19/month...not too shabby. I hope they open soon- it's scheduled to open in December. Should be a lot of fun.

On another note, We took a picture of the family today, and Josh was looking at it and was like "Oh my gosh! You are SO short!!" I had to laugh. We've been married for almost 10 years now and together for 11 and every once in a while he will realize how very short I am. True, true, he doesn't get to see me nearly as much as he probably should and I am usually either in 3-5 inch heels or in bed when he does see me so it's not totally him being dense. Either way, it cracked me up and I had to laugh at him.

Tiffany's 7th Birthday

Today has been a pretty chill day. We got up and had french toast for breakfast which is what Tiff wanted. Then, we played Monopoly. The game ended up going for more than 2 hours, until Bob and Dorothea came by to see Tiff. So, nobody won, but we still had fun. Tiffany was glad to have them stop by for her birthday.

Sometimes I think about Tiff and how old she is and it seems a bit surreal. It's amazing how fast everyone grows up. I remember turning 6 and such and sometimes its weird to think back that far. I have realized that the older one gets, the faster time seems to go. perhaps its because you've lived longer and so the percentage of time passed gets smaller and smaller. Either way, it is a weird thing.

One thing that won't change is how proud I am of her. She is such a great girl. She genuinely cares for other people and truly brings a smile to my heart when I am around her.

Tiffany's Birthday Party

On Saturday, 11-8-08, we had a birthday party for a few select friends at our house for Tiffy's birthday. Tiffy asked a couple of girls from dance, school and the neighborhood to attend. The party started at 11AM. While we waited for the kids to show up, the kids played duck, duck, goose.

When they had all showed up, we had pizza.

then we went over to the theatre to watch High School Musical 3. They all had a lot of fun. It was pretty funny to watch them all rock out. After the movie, we went back to the house for birthday cupcakes, cookies and presents.

All in all, it went great and everyone had a lot of fun.

I do want to say thank you to Angela for helping me out so very much with Tiffy's party. She went and got the pizza for me, helped me take the kids to the theatre since they didn't all fit in my car, and she helped me wrangle them all together and keep them all entertained. I couldn't have done it without you!

Halloween Week

It's been a long week!

Tiffy had dance all week and 2 of the days were costume days. So, I had to get her hair and makeup done for 2 of the nights. On Thursday, we had to dress up at work. So, it was crazy getting ready, going to work, running home , taking a shower to take all the crap off of my hair and face and then running to dance again. Sigh! The things we do for our kids.

I gotta say though, it was nice to put on a regular amount of makeup after wearing my costume makeup all day. It felt light. lol!

Then came Halloween. This day was filled with lots of running around.

I took the day off to chill. So, in the morning I got up and was productive with homework and stuff. Then, at 11, Angela and I went to lunch for my birthday. It was pretty funny. Alton and his friend happened to go to the same restaurant as we did and hillariously were given the booth right behind us. We laughed about that. Then, I went and got my hair done with Shannon. It was nice to get it done as it had been too long since my last appointment and my hair needed colors- all the red was almost gone. After that, I ran and got Tiffy from school. A little while after that, we had dinner (pizza) with Angie and the kids. Then, we took the kids trick or treating. Josh got home just in time to go with us- Yea! It was windy and sprinkled a little at first but it was fun. It was actually pretty nice weather- not too cold or anything. That in and of itself is amazing in Utah.

We went home that night and chilled for a while. It was nice. I got up the next morning at the crack of dawn. Actually, before that, cause I was up at 4:15 AM to study for a test I had that day. I then went and took my test later that morning. After that, we went to lunch and came home to get ready for my birthday party. I wish I could say I got a nap. I wanted one, but it just did not work out that way.

The party was fun, but it went sort of weird. People came in basically 2 waves. There were the 730p people and then there were the 1030p people. I had to laugh because not 5 minutes after everyone in the first "wave" left, did everyone else show up. At around 12:30ish, I was just dying from exhaustion. Then I started getting a couple calls from people who wanted to come party. I kinda laughed and told them I was going home. I felt like I'd already had 2 parties by that point since there were 2 completely different sets of groups. Overall, it was fun.

Now comes Tiffany's birthday party tomorrow. I still have a lot to do for that, so it will be interesting, but I guess I will have to wait and see how it plays out.
