Science Fair

Tiffany has been in a GT program all year, and she decided this year that she was going to do a science fair project. She was all gun-ho about it but then when she found out that volcanos aren't allowed, she was like " well, now what do I do?". She didn't make her final decision till the day before it was due. She decided to do it on clouds. Josh helped her do all the research and then I helped her put it all together. Now, do not think this is something I did for her. No way. She had to get involved and know exactly what she was doing. It was up to her to put down what she had learned and set it up. With help of course.

She didn't win, but she did get Honorable mention in the 2nd grade category, which I guess for 1 day notice is pretty dang good. Anyway, we were proud of her either way.

Bunco

So, I have joined a Bunco group. For those who don't know what Bunco is, its a fast paced diced game comparable to a mix betwen 21 and yatzee. Super fun! Anyway, we only do it once a month and we all really have a blast doing it.

Utah Vs. Georgia Women's Gymnastics

I love dance and Gymnastics and all things related. They give me a joy and feling of peace that I have a hard time finding in other things. Dance and music truly is a passion of mine. So, when my friend Lesley asked me to go to a gymnastics meet with her, I readily agreed. 12th row seats, great view! Fun meet. We (Utah) won by the way. WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!

It was an awesome game, but man was Tiffy ticket that I didn't have a 3rd ticket for her to come along with. LOL. I made sure to take pictures (especially of the cheerleaders). She is too funny.

Winter Recital '09

On 1/16 (also, my sister Crystal's birthday), Tiffany had her recital. She was in a cheer performance and a jazz routine for her comp team. They were so super cute. I just love watching her recitals. I couldn't be prouder watching her. She acts like she owns the stage. it's pretty funny most of the time.

In their cheer routine, you could tell it was a performing team and that they definitely needed a lot more time to practice, but it was still cute.

In her comp Jazz routine, it was cute. I love the song and their costumes are way too freaking cute!!!

Christmas and New Years '09

On the whole, X-mas went pretty well for us. We hung out on x-mas eve until Josh had to go to work later that night (yes, I know. WAY lame!!!), and then Tiffy and I hung out together. The next day, we got up and did the present thing. Tiffy especially liked this way cute white leather coat I found for her. Super cute!

Then, in the afternoon we went over to my parents house. I honestly have to wonder why we can't just have ONE year with no issues. It seems like with my family it's always something. This year, it was my dad. We were all eating and talking and the topic of politics came up. Now in my family, we are all over the board on several different subjects. Among them include: politics and religion. We all avoid those topics like the plague because unlike civilized people who can agree to disagree and respect the other's opinions, there are some who will not be named, that think that if you disagree with them, you are ignorant and an idiot. Suffice it to say, this does NOT go over well with any of us.

Anyway, the topic of politics came up and patty (John's wife) said that she should probably not say anything and kinda laughed about it. I laughed and said "yeah, with our family, its just never a good idea." So, we moved on to a completely different conversation. A while later, we all went home. Josh, Tiffy and I were about to leave to go to dinner at our friends house and my dad called.

He went off about how I had no right and/or reason to stop that conversation, that I have no idea what he thinks, how no one else had a problem with the conversation and bla bla bla. For 20 minutes he went off without listening to a single word I said about why we do not talk about these topics. I tried to explain that there is no reason that we would start a conversation about something that would lead to other things (guarranteed, I might add) and then we would fight. We didn't want to fight and that we all just wantd to havea good holiday. Finally, I had enough and I told himthat he was the only one tat obviusly had a problem since none of the rest of us cared and that he was taking it personally when it has absolutely nohing to do wth him. Maybe it wasn't the nicest thing to say, but I was quite fed up by then and I did try to be nice in the way that I said it.

Either way, when I got off the phone I was so ticked off at him. Why can't he just stop raising issues when there are none? And why can't he ust play nice with the rest of us, for once! Good rief.

After I had vented for a while, and talked to my brothers, we went to dinner. While we were at dinner, he called me again, but I didn't answer. Now I know he was just calling to hash it out somemore and NOT to apologize for being a total jerk. Shocker. Either way, he didn't leave a voicemail - not that I really expected one from him apologizing. Ha! That's a joke.

We didn't let him ruin our night. But it was truly dissapointing to see that some people never change.

On New Years, Josh had to work again. So, Tiff and I rented some movies and just hung out together. It was fun.

Slap on the hand...

I have this friend named Lesley who has the funniest way of things sometimes. When she's been bad (like she's said something not too nice, or did something not too nice and then feels bad about what she has done or said, she will say, "Ok, slap my hand! I deserve it. Bad, Bad, Bad!" LOL. It makes me laugh. Anyway, I haven't written since December. So, I deserve a slap on the hand. he he he.

So much has been going on in my life right now that I barely know where to start. So, I'll work with what we have done lately.

In December, we went to the Christmas Carol sing-a-long at the Energy Solutions Arena (which by the way- I hate that name. It's SO stupid..but whatever.) Our friends Alton and Angie were supposed to come, but they ended up not being able to make it. We ended up going with our friends Jeanie and Coby instead. It was a really cold night, but we all had a lot of fun.
