Bowling

Yesterday, we had some extra time when Josh was off work for the day. so, we decided to go bowling and play a couple games.

We played 2 games and I won the first. Josh tied me for the 2nd cause he got a spare on the last roll. I was SO annoyed. Yeah that's how the game is played, but I think that it's stupid that someone can suck and lose and then all of a sudden because of "luck" they get an extra roll. Overall, though, I still won, but it wasn't a full win for me. Yes, yes, I know. I am VERY competitive- but so is he. So, it's all good. It's something that we understand about each other.

It's things like this, to why we don't tend to play games together, because we are too competitive.

After we got home, I taught Josh how to play Bunco. LOL. He originally thought it was a "girl" game, and was like "ummm...isn't that a girl game?" I said no. So, I showed him and he said he liked it and he said he can see how it can become addicting. He he he.

Spanish Fork Comp- Sunday

Before we checked out, Tiff wanted to go swimming. So, we went down to the pool and Josh and Tiff had fun playing in the water, while I hung out, took a couple pics and read my book.

Tiff and I went home and relaxed while Josh went to work. Yeah, it bites, but its work. So, you do what you have to. At least we got a nap. All in all, it was a good but exhausting weekend.

Spanish Fork Comp- Saturday- part 2

After we took pics inside, we took pics outside.

We hung out for a while and got ready for the next dance. After we got ready, we then had to go back for the mini's awards ceremony. Our Starlets team took first in both categories. Yea for them!

After the awards ceremony, it was soon time for our girls to perform. They were a bit nervous before they went on, but they rocked it once onstage.

Afterwards, we had the awards ceremony. The girls went down to the floor for the "jam session" where they dance before awards are annouced. Tiffy and Taylor had been bored and antsy so they were all too happy to get out there and dance.

We got to go back to the hotel and relax which is a good thing since I was beyond exhausted. I was SO tired, I was nauseous. I could barely eat any dinner, I just wanted to get some sleep.

Spanish Fork Comp- Saturday- part 1

Our day started at 3:45 AM when I got up and got ready. Tiff and Josh got up at 4 AM to get ready. We had to be at the school by 7:30A. Warmups started at 7:30A promptly.

The girls went on at 8:45Am. At 8:30A, they lined up and got ready to go on. They looked so cute!

I love watching them dance. They are just too cute.

After their dance, we had free time. So, Tiffy and Taylor wanted to pose. Big Shocker! I know. Lol.

Spanish Fork Comp- Friday solo

This weekend was our second competition at Spanish Fork High School. Since Tiffany had a solo, I pulled her out of school for Friday so we could get an early start with packing and getting to the hotel since we needed to be at the school by 3:30p. We got there in plenty of time and warmed up. Unfortunately, the comp had Janica and jocelyn running back and forth between the gym and auditorium. They had spoken to the people who set up the numbers and they were supposed to postpone her number till they got back, but they didn't and called her number. So, Tiffany ended up having to run "on deck" by herself at the last minute and was the only one who didn't have someone there to help her. It frazzled her a bit, but overall, I think she did a pretty good job. At awards ceremony, Tiffany got 2nd attendant for her solo.

Ophir Old Mining Town

On Sunday, we decided to do something together as a family that wouldn't cost a ton of money since we need to save money right now. We have never been up to the Ophir old mining town but have heard that it's pretty cool. So, we took a drive to Ophir. It's a WAY WAY small town, and nothing I could ever live in or anything, but it was cool to check out. There were random things laying around the mountain area.

We kinda walked around and saw some of the cool things that were there.

We even saw an old phone booth that was right in the middle of "town". It cracked me up since I haven't seen one in years. I didn't try it out to see if it still works. LOL!

Josh and Tiff were funny. They kept looking in all the windows to see the things inside. Of course, I had to get the pics.

There were actually some pretty cool things inside the buildings. In fact, in one of them, they had a dummy in one of the windows and Josh jumped so hard he almost fell over. It was hillarious! I am too short to get a pic of the dummy since it was up way high, so the immagination will have to do for that visual.

There was a lot of fun things to see there.

It was kind of weird seeing the really old with the really new and right next to each other.

The other thing that cracked me up was their town sign. Only in nowhereville do people still have signs like this.

I will say though that it is pretty cool how very close they are to the mountain. I mean they are literally right next to it.

It was a fun family activity to do together on one our very few days where we are all actually off work, dance and school and can do things together. It's days and times like this that really make you remember why you love your family so much.
