1st Competition of the Year- Pt 2

After awards ceremony for lyrical, Tiffy had her Jazz. She did Can't Be Tamed by Miley Cyrus. Here are the pics from her Jazz dance:

Tiffy ended up getting Diamond 3rd Place. She did really well and scored a Diamond, but we couldn't figure out why 3rd place. Especially compared to the competition. When we got the judges notes, we were all stumped again as we had been with the lyrical dance. No obvious docks for anything major, but the comments were all intermediate comments. However, scores are what they are so Tiffy said she would just have to work harder and come back in 2 weeks and show the judges her improvements and that she does deserve 1st place.

We went back to the hotel a little bummed, but still very proud of Tiffy and all of her hard work.

1st Competition of the Year- pt 1

So the first competition of the year was in Saint George, UT. We left on Thursday, 3/24 in the AM and got there in the afternoon. We got settled in and chilled that first day because we knew that the madness would start the next day.

On Friday, we got up and had breakfast. Then, Tiffy practiced in the morning for about an hour with Aubrey in a open conference room. At 11 AM, I started getting Tiff ready. Hair, Makeup, body art- the works! She was ready right about 330p and we had to get to the school.

Lyrical was first. Tiffy's song is Someone is Watching Over Me. It is buy Hillary Duff and talks about her brother dying and leaving her all alone and how she has to cope with that loss and realize that she has to follow her dreams and can make it and to realize that even though he isn't there anymore, he is still watching over her. Tiffy really tried to bring the emotion to the song and I think played it beautifully. She was happy in the right parts and sad in the right parts.

Tiffy ended up earning a Diamond 2nd Place. She missed 1st by .5 pts. She was really bummed, but she decided that she was just going to work harder and get 1st next time. The comments she got back from the judges seemed REALLY harsh and more like intermediate comments, but since she didn't earn 1st, we figured she is in the right category, it was just hard competition this time.

Prepping for competition and the Year End Finale

So, in March we got all of Tiffy's costumes in and I had to decide what to do with her hair and makeup for her solo's. So, we did a run through and this is what I came up with.

Hair:

Costumes and Makeup ( I did end up adding a lot of bling and glitter and long feather lashes to this). :

Here are some showing her costumes in more detail:

Tiffy also has her Waka Waka costume (Jazz): I love it, its so cute.

Also, in prepping for the daddy/daughter dance at the year end finale, we have come up with a good lift for Josh and Tiff to do:

Tiffy has short hair

Tiffy has short hair now. It's not that bad, but I don't particularly like it. I'm sad it's gone. I think she had beautiful long hair. Sigh.
