On Friday, we got up and had breakfast. Then, Tiffy practiced in the morning for about an hour with Aubrey in a open conference room. At 11 AM, I started getting Tiff ready. Hair, Makeup, body art- the works! She was ready right about 330p and we had to get to the school.
Lyrical was first. Tiffy's song is Someone is Watching Over Me. It is buy Hillary Duff and talks about her brother dying and leaving her all alone and how she has to cope with that loss and realize that she has to follow her dreams and can make it and to realize that even though he isn't there anymore, he is still watching over her. Tiffy really tried to bring the emotion to the song and I think played it beautifully. She was happy in the right parts and sad in the right parts.
Tiffy ended up earning a Diamond 2nd Place. She missed 1st by .5 pts. She was really bummed, but she decided that she was just going to work harder and get 1st next time. The comments she got back from the judges seemed REALLY harsh and more like intermediate comments, but since she didn't earn 1st, we figured she is in the right category, it was just hard competition this time.
