Putting up the Decorations

This year Tiffany, Jayden and Taylor helped Josh and I put up the tree sans lihts and decorations. Then, just before Thanksgiving, Tify, Josh and I put the lights on the tree. Then, a little later, Josh and I put the decorations on the tree. I'm so OCD with my tree that it usualy ends up being one of 2 things: 1)me looking at the tree and telling them where I want the decoration put exactly or 2) them puting decorations on and me going through after they put it on and rearranging it to my liking. lol. However, this year it was late when we were oing to do the decoratons and Tiff had to go to bed, so we did them without her this year. I left her the star since that is her tradition with Josh. So, the following morning, she gets up and runs out to make sure the star wasn't done yet. I laughed.

She always gets excited to do the star, more than any other part. So, I make sure to leave that to her. In the end, the tree turned out pretty.

Kids have no clue sometimes...

I had to go to the DMV yesterday to register my Jeep. So, we get there and are paying and whatnot and the girl at the counter looks at Tiffany and says, "you are a very pretty girl!" So, what does Tiffy say in return? Not "thank you" or anything like that. No. She says, "yes, everybody says that." And I'm standing there going "Oh My Gosh!" in my head. I had to sort of laugh cause its funny in a way, but so not in another. So, as we're walking out, she turns to me and says, "how come everyone says that?" . So, we had to have a conversation about things people say and how to react and what not to say and how the appropriate response is "Thank you."

I forget sometimes how blunt children are and can be. They haven't learned tact yet. I remember being asked things that I know that people wanted a certain response but since I was taught not to lie, I gave them the absolute blunt truth and then they would get mad at me for the answers they got. Its hard to be mad, because tact is not the easiest thing to learn. I suppose only time can really teach it. Either way, I thought it was kind of a funny story.

Putting up the tree

Usually I like to do everything all at once. It goes with my all or nothing, black or white personality. However, we have been so very busy that I'm more in the mood to take my time a little more with things. So, Wednesday night when Jayden and Taylor J. came over, we decided to put up the x-mas tree. It was a lot of fun. Taylor helped Josh put the greenery on the stem of the tree and Jayden and Tiffany helped fan out the tree leaves and helped pass them to josh and I to put on the tree.

They were all great helpers. So, we had eggnog and chocolate cookies after we finished. I, of course, had to get a picture of the 3 of them by the tree before they left.

Dance Observation Night

Tuesday was the observation night for Tiffany's competition dance class. They were so funny. Taylor and Tiffany were the ones who helped lead the girls in warm up. So, it as fun watching them lead the other girls.

After warm ups, they worked on their 2 dances for the competitions and recital coming up in January. They started with their "Mickey" dance.

Next up was their "cowgirl" dance. They had a lot of fun with this one- though I think the props have more to do with that than anything.

It's been a lot of fun watching her improve in dance. It's amazing to see your child grow up and turn into a little lady where before she was just a baby and then a toddler. She is polished and has great technique. I really enjoy it and I know she does too.

Tumbling Observation Day

Monday was the observation night for Tiffy's tumbling class. She has a lot of fun in the class and especially liked having Josh came and watch her. Josh thinks she is SUPER flexible. lol. I have to laugh because he can't touch his toes with his hands. He says "its too hard."

She is doing really well.

It will be fun to see them in the final performance in the late spring and see how much she has learned and improved since now.

Tiffy's B-Day Dinner

We went to Benihana's for Tiffany's birthday dinner with the family. Her friend Taylor S. has gone the last couple of years for her birthday and really enjoyed it. She has told Tiffy about it, and suggested it to her. So, we decided to go there. My dad and Lonnie, and Cryatal came with us. It was great to have them there.

My parents gave her a cute hat and vest that is furry. She really liked it and insisted on wearing it the next day to school. lol.

All in all, we had a great night!

The Gym and Josh Being Funny

So, yesterday before Tiffy's party, Angie and I took the kids over to Golds gym so that we could research it and sign up for memberships. So, we did. $19/month...not too shabby. I hope they open soon- it's scheduled to open in December. Should be a lot of fun.

On another note, We took a picture of the family today, and Josh was looking at it and was like "Oh my gosh! You are SO short!!" I had to laugh. We've been married for almost 10 years now and together for 11 and every once in a while he will realize how very short I am. True, true, he doesn't get to see me nearly as much as he probably should and I am usually either in 3-5 inch heels or in bed when he does see me so it's not totally him being dense. Either way, it cracked me up and I had to laugh at him.
